Can you rush this?

Can you rush this? At Accelerateprint, we hear this request several times a week. Customers call in with an urgent request that must be filled by the end of the week – and its noon on Thursday! Occasionally, these requests are prompted by a last minute decision to create and print an item for a company event but more times than not, it is due to poor planning.

Something for all marketing and sales departments to remember is that commercial printing can take anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks depending on the size of the job. There are proofing processes, corrections, color matching, file work, production, trim and bind. Now, not all of these apply to all print jobs but I mention them to highlight the fact that commercial printing is not the same as printing on your digital printer at home or in your office. It is a very complex service that, while sometimes lengthy, will yield great results.

In order to avoid making this request, make it a priority to identify all items that will need to be printed, even if you don’t have all of the specs yet. Then place a call to your designated commercial printer and let them know your goals for this project. If they are worth their salt, they will start the process of managing your project, paying close attention to specifications and deadlines. As the timeline moves along, they will begin to prompt you for various items in order to make sure the project stays on time and is to your specifications.

At Accelerateprint, we have experienced Project Managers that follow a tried and true Project Management Model. Let us show you how we expertly manage all print projects, allowing you to focus on what you know best, while our knowledge goes toward the on-time completion of your critical material.
